Events and Happenings of Salon du Monde
Come with us to events and happening around Charlotte. We help with fundraisers, charity events, fashion and hair events, spa events, healing and wholeness events and sporting events. Other events are just fun to do. We host parties, cook outs, and art events with music. There is usually a lot of good food. Hey Nunny Nunny Don Juan & Miguel Washer Wenches
Put you favorite pirate costume on and come with us. The crew of Salon du Monde is setting their sites for the Carolina Renaissance Festival. We will feast, listen to great songs of yore, and laugh at the comedy of actors. Is you favorite fantasy to ride on an elephant? We will post pictures later. It will lift your hearts and feed you spirits. Everyone can enjoy a day of laughter and feasting.

Our pictures of the Event
The Renaissance Festival is always a good time. This year they did not disappoint us. We laughed, ate, sang and had a good time. We were amazed by feats of balance and muscle control. Maidens IV was there with their celtic rock and we had a jamming good time with them. They blend their voices so well. Ramblin Sailors is always a good duo to listen to with many old she shanties and a version of "itsy bitsy spider" that will blow you away. The washer wenches had a very impressive baudy show and they will prove the following point: "We will get wet for you!!". They truely do suffer for their art since it was a cool 50 degree's out at the time. The Tory Steller had a rendition of Free Bird in Reniassance style.
Turkey legs all always a hit in the food faire. My favorie is the fish and chips. The chips have a choice of regular or sweet potatoes.
I never miss church if I go to the Hey Nunny show. It is a rackus humorous duo of humor, song, and infomercials of "Damn it all", Spray your sins away. Especially the smelly ones.
If you did not get to go, you really missed a good time. Come back with us next year. - Perry

Salon du Monde will have a booth set up at the cook off. The proceeds for this event help an important organization within the Charlotte region - Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region.

General Event Information
WHEN: October 8, 2011 • Gates open at 12:00pm
The 8th Annual Plaza Midwood-Chantilly Chili Cook-Off is almost here! Join us on October 8, 2011 at the MMR Racing Parking lot for a fun-filled, family-friendly day. Then put the kids to bed and enjoy live music for a rockin' good time at night. The event will feature cooks and their teams from local businesses and restaurants, as well as some entrepreneurial, individual cooks competing for trophies - along with bragging rights for a full year!
The proceeds for this event help an important organization within the Charlotte region - Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region. Why did we choose to help this organization? Check out our history, it explains everything.
So what else happens, other than having the best chili cook-off around? Other activities include:
Live music from local bands will play all day and night! Check back soon for a detailed lineup...
Do you own a motorcycle? Then bring it with you for our Ride-In Motorcycle Show. Trophies will be awarded!
We'll also be holding a raffle throughout the day, so buy some tickets and take a chance on some really great prizes from local businesses. We'll post more information as it comes in.
And last but not least, please don't forget that we'll have a lot of homemade sweets for you to choose from!
Cost is $10 for adults and children 6 and up; we ask for a donation for children 5 and under.
